Fashion is Passion the largest fashion and style show taking place in the Nordic fashion metropolis Riga will be a most intriguing way to see off this year’s spring collection. In contrast to the traditionally arranged fashion shows, the general public will, eventually, have an opportunity both to see and to purchase clothes of the best Latvian fashion designers. Whereas, the Shopping Centre stores will offer the latest autumn-winter fashion collections, demonstrating the latest world fashion trends.
During the period of 11 to 14 October, in the very heart of the Domina Shopping Centre, the most talented Latvian fashion designers, among them being Natālija Jansone, Baiba Ripa, Anna Ledskalniņa, Līga Banga, Žanete Auziņa, Šeila, Elena Bula, Paparita and Uverita, will offer their unique collections of clothes, which express the flight of fancy of various creative and unique ideas. The individual approach to fashion of every designer will demonstrate to the public unlimited variations of styles that are supplemented by a countless number of colours and forms. By considering that fashion is an integral part of every person's life, fashion designers will try to help every interested person to find the most appropriate elements of fashion.
“Latvian society is becoming more open to new ideas, similarly also attitude to fashion and the opportunities it provides is gradually changing. It is clear that we all do not want to be dressed in the same way. The clothes individually made by fashion designers most often are not only capable of distinguishing a person from the surrounding environment but also of accentuating his personality and making him feel much more self-confident," clarifies the Fashion is Passion organizer, fashion designer Natālija Jansone.
Collections of clothes will be placed in Domina Shopping Centre stands specially made for this event, thus resembling a small showroom or a fashion exhibition premises. The stands will be arranged in the very centre of Domina, next to the Vairāk Saules and Kebabs Fix restaurants.
“As works of the Latvian fashion designers are currently not accessible to the general public, an idea occurred about arranging an exhibition of the fashion designers works, which has been implemented in line with the store principle. Alongside with implementing this idea, within the framework of the Fashion is Passion event, over several days we shall be able to offer to the Domina Shopping Centre clients a much wider and more varied range of fashion goods, alongside with the autumn and winter collections provided by other stores. The Fashion is Passion fashion and style show proves annually that it is capable of maintaining Domina’s high standards, and we can promise that this shopping centre is the largest and the most qualitative one that offers the largest and the most qualitative range of fashion goods to its clients,” informs the Head of the Marketing Department of the Domina Shopping Centre Baiba Gercāne inviting to the event.
And on 2 October the Domina Shopping Centre will arrange a press conference, where the mass media will be informed of the position occupied by Latvian fashion designers in the business environment of this country, touching upon the industry problems and outlining their possible solutions.
The fashion designer and the Fashion is Passion organizer Baiba Ripa speaks about the situation in the Latvian fashion business: “At present, Latvian fashion designers can compete only between themselves, but competition with the mass market is, in fact, impossible. The largest pitfalls in the way of development appear not only due to insufficient financial resources, but also due to the scarce opportunity to demonstrate and sell creative ideas here in Latvia."
Furthermore, during the press conference, results of the opinion poll organized by the Domina Shopping Centre were presented on the choices of the public, as consumers, with regard to the fashion products bought in Latvia, as well as their opinion on products of the Latvian fashion designers. It will be also interesting to find out who, in the opinion of public, is the most stylish person in Latvia this year!
The Fashion is Passion fashion and style show is in its third consecutive year, and it was started due to the lack of fashion and style shows, which ordinary Latvians can attend. Every year the show is supplemented with different unconventional ideas, among them being the Naked King story implemented not only by the most recognized Latvian fashion designers but also by stylists.
Fashion is Passion has been organized by the Domina Shopping Centre jointly with the Latvian fashion designers Natālija Jansona and Baiba Ripa. During the show, visitors have an opportunity of getting acquainted with the latest fashion trends of the next season and on the spot select something that appeals most.
